Choosing champagne is not a simple endeavour in a world filled with grandiose names and even higher expectations. But you cannot help but be excited when you discover something genuinely unique, artisanal and simply magnificent.
There are some champagnes you would only sip on, some you savour, others you can't help but devour. You always consider the history and reputation, but sometimes you just know, you have found 'the one'.
Boll & Cie is truly a hidden gem, one previously undiscovered and therefore holds a special place in many hearts and more importantly on Steer's wine list. The first time we came across Boll & Cie, it was humbly sitting at a champagne tasting, a throw's distance from Billecart, Veuve and Louis Roederer. It wasn't fazed by it's bigger neighbours, and with good reason.
